Beloved by bees and butterflies, this pretty red Monarda is a real eye catcher in the garden this time of year.
One of my favorites, H. ‘Mauna Loa’ blooms for a month or more in my Upstate NY garden and it increases over time, giving you more to move or share.
This is one of my favorite daylily forms, called a “Spider”. Spider-form daylilies have long petals that don’t usually overlap. They are quite striking in the garden, standing out from most of the other flower.
This is a hover Fly, hanging out on some Queen Anne’s Lace. I don’t think they sting, though one still has the impulse to wave it away if it flies near.
Ideally, Apple Blossoms appear in late May to early June here in Upstate NY, but a warm spring will bring them out earlier, when they’ll run the risk of getting bitten by a late frost.
